In terms of the internet being a symbol for eternity there seems to be a new opportunity to interpret death - seen as the “ultimate closure” in life since the enlightenment - differently: It is not a final disappearing act anymore but rather some type of vanishing into the internet where one may eternally be connected with the rest of the world.
